I’d be leaving Smith out of all white ball stuff. He often slows momentum when he’s at the crease.

They’ve done plenty of that. Finals 2022, youngest team in the comp 2023. Got back into a run when Fyfe returned. The run stopped when Darcy and Fyfe finished their season.

Add their experience and the class of Chapman next season and another pre-season to the kids, Freo has no worries.

That’s why silly trolls like your comment never work. Those who follow footy, instead of just barrack against teams, can see what’s happening. Your comment just gives me a forum to inform people.

Freo finished too high on the ladder to be in conversation for those two. Freo is way happier with Jackson anyway.

You’d love Mitch Edwards. Have you seen him?

Both Williams boys will have long and strong careers at WC; especially Jack. He has much to offer, not as a fill in ruck but as a full on key forward.

He was neck and neck with Amiss and Van Rooyen in his draft year.

For that reason, it has great meaning. I’m not inspired by watching NSW represent Australia. This series allows us to watch form players in Australia who have earned selection.

Sturt, Serong, Darcy, Schultz, Brayshaw, Aish, Ryan, Brodie, Emmett, Pearce, Young, Frederick, Wagner, Treacy, Cox, Switta, Worner are all from the east and have all extended and are staying. A player leaves for more money and it seems people think a club is being abandoned.

Henry, Logue, Acres, Lobb, Tucker all had opportunities to earn money Freo wasn’t prepared to pay. Henry was a terrific replacement for Acres. It was really only Logue we missed and that was more for his clubman ethic. Henry has that quality too but good on them for drawing those offers and opportunities. Freo has ready replacements because they have managed the list so well. They have a terrific retention rate.

Agar has to play. He is our best performed spinner…particularly with economy. Zampa and Sangha with the bat and in the field would be an issue.

By the way, I stayed up to watch the game. Sangha did not bowl all that well. The stumping was off a great ball but the clean bowled was against a non-batsman and the other two were really bad balls. Some horrible half-trackers. He’s not ready yet to go past Agar, Lyon, Murphy, Kuhnemann. Certainly, for team balance, Agar’s bowling, fielding and batting is very important, especially his batting in 50 over games. Not as necessary in T20 because he is unlikely to be needed. His bowling and fielding is needed there, though.
