to answer my own question (its called “google” stupid). 15 tests v Australia, ave 33, no centuries, lost 9 , won 4
UK View: Same old Broady, always bleating - 'Unjust' result if rain saves Australia's bid to retain Ashes
Trescothick’s comment not unreasonable, looked him up and was surprised he had a good test average of 43. Didi I miss something or was he a flop against Australia?

The behaviour of the members will ensure the moment lives forever and will have repercussions. If they only “suspend” (for how long?) 3 members for that disgraceful behaviour in particular the issue won’t die down. And the stumping itself will be remembered as long as tests are played, as is W.G.Grace’s from the 19th century reported in the oz today, when he ran out an Australian wandering out of his crease and said “I taught that lad a lesson” no recall..
Flem’s Verdict: Cummins shows true class on and off the field as England contradict their words with actions
That’s a bowler, and yes they still do rather than go straight to a Mankad (although not always these days) but a wicket-keeper?!
Stuart Broad has just given Pat Cummins a lecture on moral standards. The audacity is gobsmacking
Have any of you ex or current cricketers out there ever seen a wicket-keeper give a “warning” of any sort ever, as some of the Brits have suggested? ” Mate, I’ve noticed you’re lifting that back foot a little, careful now!” “watch out for the wider, shorter one coming up”, “make sure you slide your bat!” thank goodness the next test is starting so soon..

Mccullums (2 of 3 thank you very much) were after players had completed runs and were then wandering down the pitch to shake their opponents hand, not much room for doubt there, doing it twice make’s subsequent ( post retirement) remorse pretty dubious. Careys throw was immediate. If you cant see a distinction you aren’t trying.
'Always stay in your crease': A local Aussie cricketer's perspective on Bairstow’s dismissal
And the 2 of Mccullum running out 2 (2! Count them!) players ( no recall) as they ambled up the pitch to congratulate their teammate’s milestones?spare us all . And on the second and third replay you noticed Bairstow was not batting out of his crease? Not so easy from 20 meters behind.

Well, yes, defend his team and point out Mccullums hypocrisy ( i note they have found a 3 rd example of him doing it)
UK View: 'He didn't look like a leader. He looked pathetic' - Cummins caned but Poms also skewer 'dozy' Bairstow
have to say when I saw Starc’s “catch” all I thought was “wtf are you doing putting the ball on the ground?’ who does that at any level of cricket , even Aussie rules if you take a mark you will suffer any pain or injury to try to keep the ball off the ground, let alone a test match on manicured lawn

Where is our coach in all this? Hypocrisy and rubbish from McCullum who has done it twice (the one of Muralitharan outrageous) but no defence or in fact anything from McDonald. Really weak.

Agree most likely Harris, I wouldn’t hold it too much against him but Renshaw blew an opportunity in his India test.
Ashes Second Test Teams: Starc pushing for recall ahead of Boland or Hazlewood, England facing dilemmas in key areas
If Green gets going “ long levers” guaranteed an airing
Did we mention the slope at Lord’s? The official Ashes commentary drinking game
It was interesting that the 3 modes of preparation 1. IPL 2. County. 3. Nothing didnt seem to make much difference with success/ not so much in all groups
Flem’s Verdict: Boland must play in first Ashes Test after starring role in Australia’s WTC final domination
Agree, a “bad miss” which serious commentators ( ex test players) called Warners “every day of the week”. I hadn’t thought of the Warner apologist angle, just assumed it was the typical anti South Oz bias( and before you accuse me of paranoia explain Head’s omission in the India firat test) that or a Paine tragic or some other hometown hero fanboy. Sorry “Roar expert”, Carey and Head are there for a while yet. As Australias best keeper and top 3 batsman should be.
Every player graded from the World Test Championship final: Heroic Head, brilliant Boland, but Aussie nemesis struggles
i would pick Neser as 3rd quick not a number 7 allrounder, not so keen on Carey at 6
Neser, we have a problem: Why Australia need to rush Mr Fix-It into Ashes squad
nice article, thanks . enjoyed the character assessment
Ashes Anniversaries: 6229 wickets at 8.33 - happy 150th to the 'finest bowler there ever was'
He always seems to do well when called on as bowler, and is a handy bat
Where to now for Australia after long hot summer with crucial 12 months on the horizon: 2022-23 Talking Points
Head,
Marsh,
Smith,
Labuschagne,
Green,
Carey,
Abbott,
Agar/ Ellis (depending on deck, with a preference for Agar),
Starc,
Cummins,
Zampa.
I dont see room for Warner, its not always about losing form/geting old, sometimes other players force their way in. Labuschagne hasn’t completely performed in ODI’s but i would have him ahead of Warner still . (and Smith Captain would be ideal)

Josh Inglis, off Starc, moving to his right in from of Smith (as Carey did in the Ashes) with the Indian keeper very shabby, its harder than it looks
India storm home despite Starc fire in opening ODI
dropped a catch too, Don (Gill on 2 or 3 I think) 1 more than Carey dropped in 3 tests I think .
India storm home despite Starc fire in opening ODI
Smith was terrific. His comments afterwards saying captaining in Australia is simple echoed my own thoughts and general fairly low regard for the skill of captaining , but I never really appreciated the skill and thought involved in marshalling the troops, field settings in the subcontinent. No slight on Cummins but I don’t think any other Australian would have come close to Smiths brilliant captaincy .

The real difference between the teams is the 3 Indian spinners are all-rounders. They can really bat. I’m guessing that’s why they are there. There are probably dozens of spinners in India as or nearly as good as these 3 so they can choose ones that can bat. Australia has only a few spinners of that quality so we can’t .You can quibble over Lyon’s bounce or Ashwin’s doosra , they are all excellent bowlers. Unfortunately our 3 can’t bat. Lyon is a reasonable 9 or 10, Murphy and Kuhnemann unfortunately seem complete bunnies. We are playing 3 short in the batting department. It needs an exceptional performance from 1 or 2 of our guys to win over there, with a bit of luck thrown in.
GOAT by name, GOAT by nature: Lyon's elite eight leaves Aussies 76 runs away from stunning win
Swepson was pretty good in Sri Lanka. It would have been interesting to see him.

One of Fleming’s best articles.
Flem’s Verdict: Aussies earned the Ashes urn well before rain put a dampener on England's chances
