Wasn’t good enough for England to beat Australia, and a cheat ball in the box is why it wasn’t 3-1. So Penrith will be Australia with Lyon, other teams no chance. Asides from that you’re right in that they won’t be beaten by playing a similar or conservative style so other teams may as well throw the ball around a bit and try to get a lot of second phase play going. I still don’t think anyone will get near them though

Can Bazball show the rest of the NRL finalists how to beat the Panthers?

I think they’ll struggle to best the Knights, they are in great form. I’d lick them to beat the Roosters though, they don’t impress me much

ANALYSIS: Souths bludge their way to Dragons win - but on this showing, put the line through them

I think they’ll start coming good but in the finals they’ll revert back to this type of display and season over. But their best is better than most teams best, bar Penrith and maybe Brisbane and Melbourne

ANALYSIS: Souths bludge their way to Dragons win - but on this showing, put the line through them

It seems Latrells mood dictates the whole team. Earlier on the year he was happy as Larry and they were killing it, now he looks like he doesn’t want to be there, possibly because of carrying injuries, maybe all the travel they’ve been doing. They’ll still beat almost anyone when they are on, if they manage to be on again this year that is

ANALYSIS: Souths bludge their way to Dragons win - but on this showing, put the line through them

Rava is shocking with his defensive reads, but I’ve noticed that a lot of the time they aren’t numbering up inside him, Hunt and the edge forward seem too far in, but even when they have the numbers Rava always let’s his opposite stand 5m outside him then rushes in needlessly. He’s worth persevering with and teaching though, some of the tries he scores are unbelievable and he takes a lot of tough runs out of trouble.

The refereeing in this game was that bad that a couple of times I was questioning why my Dragons received a couple of penalties at one point. The offside try was terrible too. They blow penalties and 6 agains for nothing then ignore major stuff. There needs to be an overhaul, it’s a shame they can’t get Bennett or someone like that to run the ref’s. Or even Can Smith, it’d be like catch me if you can where the fraudster ends up being employed by the FBI

Except for the last one, that was one juiced up Dukes!

Is the Australian Test side set up for success over the next four years?

You ought to give yourself an uppercut with that sort of blasphemy Buster

You can admit it now - if Stuart Broad was an Aussie, he'd be your favourite player

The only English cricketer I’ve ever found likeable is Freddy Flintoff.

You can admit it now - if Stuart Broad was an Aussie, he'd be your favourite player

I genuinely don’t like him. He carries on like a spoilt brat and if he was an Aussie he’d have played maybe 40 or 50 tests at most, not 167.

That’s actually a good idea, if he comes off it relieves the pressure on the rest of the batting order

They couldn't... could they? Khawaja-Warner century stand on rained-out fourth day gives Aussies a chance

Leach isn’t half the bowler Lyon is so I don’t think it’s fair when England counter the Lyon injury by saying oh we lost Leach! Everything had gone against them until the rain in Manchester, even yesterday the sun disappeared yet again during change of innings. Been a great series and it would be unbelievable if Australia get the win. Before Edgbaston I’d never seen Australia win a close one like that and I think they’ll get a lot of belief out of that victory

They couldn't... could they? Khawaja-Warner century stand on rained-out fourth day gives Aussies a chance

I was thinking last night that if Cummins didn’t use Starc until the 33rd over we’d all be screaming blue murder

They couldn't... could they? Khawaja-Warner century stand on rained-out fourth day gives Aussies a chance

I’m right of centre yet can’t understand this labelling of the cricket team as woke. Yes Cummins is into his climate change stuff but he’s allowed his beliefs, and I don’t know who else is woke. They aren’t exactly dying their hair blue and putting pronouns on the team list.

Fingers crossed Warner and Khawaja can get themselves in again and get us to 200, that’d really make things interesting.

So there’s a Gilly quality replacement for Warner is there? This NSW bias tin foil hat stuff is ridiculous. They have produced most of the best players since I’ve followed cricket, that’s why they have the highest test representation most of the time. Not because of bias. But because of the best pathways and opportunities and coaching and economy. So take the tin foil hats off and support Australia, who cares what state a player is from!

Flem's Verdict: Aussies will be galvanised to shut up England’s PR machine after washout kerfuffle

A NSW-less Australian side would be Wimdies level and lose to a full strength NSW team. Cummins, Starc, Hazlewood and Lyon against Boland, Neser, Murphy, Jhye R if fit but he’s always hurt so who next?

If that was the case there’d be a few more censored

They’ve got the first 10 cheaply and quickly enough…

Best article on the series I’ve read! England have turned into Prince Harry and his missus, living “their” truth

England's Ashes have been historic, if you ignore the actual truth

The last 3 series in Australia, not just the last one! 13-0

'Stokes put his mate over the Ashes': The Pommy and the Aussie chat late declarations, retained urns and more

Hunt can’t organise and do traditional halfback things like kick field goals, so hopefully DCE retires but I don’t think he will. Geez I didn’t know he was that old though, still looks 14

Time's up Teddy: Why NSW's Game III win creates the perfect moment for Tedesco to ride off into the Origin sunset

People say Ponting should’ve retired earlier for his legacy, but he played on as Australia had no replacements and an over the hill Ponting averaging 40 instead of 55 was still useful. And does anyone, when thinking of Punter, think of the old bloke who struggled against the short ball, or the bloke who played the hook shot better than anyone and always scored big in big games? Long story short legacy isn’t determined by your last few years, it’s your whole career

Time's up Teddy: Why NSW's Game III win creates the perfect moment for Tedesco to ride off into the Origin sunset

Would you want to tour with Walsh?! I’d pick the Duff man over him, just so I didn’t have to put up with the big headed w@n&er!

Time's up Teddy: Why NSW's Game III win creates the perfect moment for Tedesco to ride off into the Origin sunset

I thought he should’ve been dropped after game one for Edwards, but if he has a full pre season and plays at his best for the Rorters next year it’d be silly to rule him out.

Also how short are a lot of NSW fans memories? Winning a dead rubber against a hungover QLD team that already had the series wrapped up, should not guarantee anyone a jersey for next year and Freddy and Brandy must go.

Time's up Teddy: Why NSW's Game III win creates the perfect moment for Tedesco to ride off into the Origin sunset

Good point. But I think that speaks more to Lyons career best form, and Head bowled beautifully. I like Murphy and think he’ll have a long career but if the captain won’t show faith in him, someone like Zampa who is a cool cat and has experience in big games, cup finals etc., he could surprise England and thrive with them going after him. On the flip side they could absolutely flay him, I’m not married to the idea but I think it could be an effective ploy vs Bazball

Flem’s Verdict: No momentum change after narrow loss but Warner on last chance and Aussies need Wood plan
