I never claimed that a Brownlow medal equated with finals appearances so you’re the one who’s wrong.

The AFL is now the competition that all teams play in.

Healy,Templeton, Skilton, who was in a final in 1970 and Bunton while great players,were VFL players.
These five players of the past ten years have all played finals, so DdD’s argument is wrong ,your conclusions are wrong.

You’re very woolly-headed when it comes to thinking critically , reading what is written and not spinning out the thread of your verbosity beyond the strength of the staple.

It does seem that you are imagining things.

Shane Crawford, Paul Kelly, Tony Liberatore, Gera(r)d Healy, Tony Lockett, Peter Moore, Brian Wilson, Barry Round, Kelvin Templeton are players who you say, while good enough to win a Brownlow ,never played finals…

Wrong,boyo, Skilton played finals in 1970.

Bunton,Jr, played WAFL finals,Norwood finals etc.

How would the Pies have done without father-son, an advantage not granted to expansion clubs?
