It really depends on what Carlton team turns up on Friday night. We have seen their best capable of the winning the flag, but at their worst, they should not have made the eight.

Why every finals team can win the 2023 AFL premiership... and why they can't

So true, but name how many Brownlow favourites have been the result of trading the first round pick? It’s not an exact science.

The Eagles' first Pick 1 this century is worth more than anything they could trade it for - here's why

Yes, I would have had him in there over Zach Merrett.

AFL Awards: Bontempelli wins second MVP as new faces named in All-Australian team, Sheez the man for Rising Star honours

Tim, obviously you are trolling for feedback. Goals win games, its not a matter of opinion, its a matter of fact. I’m sorry, but a forward must kick more an 25 goals & finish higher than 50th on the Coleman listing to be selected in a AA team. Maybe you are seeing something that the rest of us are not. Superstar over the last 10 years, but not an AA this year.

The Roar's predicted AFL All-Australian team: Dusty must make the cut... but who should be left out for him?

He is not 100 cents in the dollar, most normal people around the world know that. It’s just really scary that so many Americans don’t realise that & idolise him. Good luck with the Tshirt collection.

That’s Fake News.

You bought a Donald Trump TShirt? Be careful, you never know what you might collect in in?

Yes I would like the Giants to make a run. But unless they run into the Swans along the away, life on the road every week during the finals is tuff.

Chanon, very frustrating year for Doggie fans. Who will you be cheering for from here?

Forget the ladder - the Lions have never been further away from a flag

Living in Sydney I can tell you a lot of people in Sydney didn’t know who Tony Lockett or Buddy Franklin were before they moved to Sydney. As I would suggest, not many people in Melbourne knew who Cameron Smith was before he arrived at the Storm. I am not saying that Dusty will place the Suns in the premiership window, but he would have a positive affect. I loved the interview with Tony Lockett when he said that the first time he walked into a Pub & no one knew him, was in late 1994 in Randwick. The greatest forward in AFL history, who would have thought.

TOM MORRIS: Why a Dusty-Dimma reunion makes sense... but not for 13 more months

Very easy to say the Lions won’t win, put your Kahanas on the line & tell me who will win it?

Forget the ladder - the Lions have never been further away from a flag

Agreed, the hardest part of winning a Grand Final is getting there. They are a decent chance.

I don’t believe we need to use better technology & constant replays; I just think we need to use a bit of common sense & award full points upon the ball going through the posts untouched. Afterall, the team that kicks the most goals is still going to win the game.

Crows robbery the latest in a long list of failures by Gill's arrogant AFL

Don’t forget that for a long period of time Adam Goodes was invited to tell his side of the story & chose his privacy. The AFL tried to talk him into participating in the farewell lap of honour. He declined the offer. I haven’t heard of any stories of Adam Goodes being denied communication or participation. I am sure the AFL would love to employ Adam to assist in encouraging youth to join our game.

The AFL is the VFL. Its the same competition, just a few extra clubs & a few relocated teams. We cant start new records & stats every-time a new club joins the competition. It would get very complicated.

Six Points: The coach killer to end all coach killers, and why score review system will always be imperfect

PD, so many rules have changed in our game, so I won’t accept “it’s been that way for 100 years so let’s not change it”. When I first started watching the game, Bruce Doull would be surrounded by too many opponents so he would turn & kick the ball along the ground over the boundary line. He would kill the play, cause an anti-climax & the game would be reset with a through in by the boundary umpire. All the other ball sports gave an advantage to the opposition for killing the play like this, AFL at that time didn’t. We can learn from other sports! PD, do remember the major uproar when the AFL brought in the free kick for intentional out of bounds rule? So many people said it went against the fabric & the grain of our game & it was unfair on defenders. Guess what happened? Defenders became a lot more skilful & I still have great memories of the crowd rising to it’s feet watching Andrew McLeod taking on opponents & using his pace & evasive skills to bring the ball out of the back half rather than just kicking it towards the boundary line. Tell me that rule change has not improved our game? I don’t believe we need to use better technology & constant replays; I just think we need to use a bit of common sense. Afterall, the team that kicks the most goals is still going to win the game.

Their are so many situations that we are never going have a black & white answer to. So many times we are never going to come to a clear conclusion in a split second or repeated replays. Sometimes they can change the result of a game & we all have to live with that. But the ball brushing the inside of the post is a pretty easy & simple fix.

I’m not saying you are, all I am saying is that if we did not have that kweirky rule in our game, everyone this week would be talking about a great close game of football not the umpire stuff up.

Six Points: The coach killer to end all coach killers, and why score review system will always be imperfect

Lessen the amount of kweirks in our game & we will spend less time wingeing about different standards of how they are ruled upon. If you enjoy wingeing about kweirky umpire calls, then write to Gill & get him to create a few more illogical rules. Mr Right is just a simple man who enjoys watching great football. I can live without the kweirks, but that is just me I suppose.

Six Points: The coach killer to end all coach killers, and why score review system will always be imperfect

Great idea, lets invent more ideas to watch endless replays & complain about more poor umpiring decisions.

Six Points: The coach killer to end all coach killers, and why score review system will always be imperfect

Kweirks can be good if they don’t cause a problem or lessen the quality of watching our game. Some kweirky people like to invent rods to carry on their backs. Mr Right likes to walk along more logical lines!!

Buckley is a goose. What if the same incident had happened in the first 5 mins of the game? It would have hardly have gained any attention. So easy to make those statements Nathan, I would love to see you write a paper stating when & under what circumstances a game decision can be reversed by a post match tribunal. I hope he is getting paid good money to appear to be that stupid by AFL fans.

I am a Hawks supporter who lives in Sydney & I am moving up to the Gold Coast in 2024. I am determined to lift the crowd numbers at Metricon by 1 at each home game. Dusty would lift the crowd numbers by a heck of a lot more than that. BTW, I wont be trading in my Hawks jersey I will be hoping that James Sicily keeps Ben King in check when they play up there.
