Overall improvement from last season.

Was interesting to see the Del Santo coached St Kilda, to, if not bring back the biff, brought back aggression to try and reel in North. While temporarily successful, North regrouped nicely.

So The Soccer World Draft has come out has it? Some Brazilian whiz kid at Pick 1 happily off to Macarthur, instead of Inter Milan. Meanwhile, top Aussie pick, young Lethal Leigh Carey-Ablett, age of 15 is off to Real Madrid on a base salary of e50,000 a week at pick 11,000.

Speaking of states next door, Europe, sans poor old Russia, comfortably fits into Australia’s area and the East/West and North/South distances are less than those of Aus. So yes, moving is a big deal in Australia.

We definiely should. I love a good past blast. Old Holden was pretty handy. Bolton that old gouger! Swans got some beauties. Merv Neagle another.

Larkey’s done all his work without the support of other big units and frequently poor service. Although his biggest issue was lack of game awareness in not kicking 19 against WC (6 & 2). If up field work, goal assists and inaccuracy get you a spot, then dining out on the bottom side shouldn’t. In typical Joe style he scored zero goals against WC.

I remember the 49.

Lillee got his highest, 73 no, in the same series.

Was it Viv Richards with 4 or 5 run outs in the WC final? I also remember Roy Fredericks hooking Lillee for six only to step on his stumps.

Poor old Clem unlucky on 68, looking well set for another 90.

It’s interesting how Trumper’s brilliance has overshadowed Hill’s to the point of being described as a “contemporary” and being remembered for a selector brawl where he attempted to throw McAlister out the window.

He scored more of his 7 test centuries overseas than at home, 6 x 90s, 5 x 80s, also frequently got his runs when the game were up for grabs. He also took a brilliant running boundary catch to dismiss Lilley for the 9th wicket, with 8 to get at the very height of the 1902 Old Trafford epic.

Renato was pretty comprehensive.

Clem was not wrong but perhaps a little bit modest. As was Vic.

Boonie was a Holden One Tonner.

A pity Marky didn’t play in that epic 88/89 series vs WI. Could have done with a little bit of extra Vrooom.

That would be Clem Hill when they got 135 each?

Vic was incredible but Clem was not 1/2 bad. An extraordinary 6 x 90s including the triple 99, 98,97.

And on the duck celebration theme, I think Clem was the first bloke to do the test century and a duck double – 188 and 0.
