You seem very ignorant…

RA's 'devastating, no substance' response to Wallaroos shows exactly why rugby is being left behind

Martin would be joining a far better team than Ablett did.

TOM MORRIS: Why a Dusty-Dimma reunion makes sense... but not for 13 more months

Maybe he simply thought the “visibly tiring” players were better than the bench players?

It's time for football in Australia to grow up and stop being so naĂ¯ve

Swans absolutely do not need a key forward. With McDonald, Amartey and McLean as a three-pronged big man attack, with Heeney, Papley and Hayward crumbing, the forward line is fine.

A big bodied midfielder (a Kennedy replacement) and a key defender would be great.

I repeat, none of the regular tenants regularly fill the existing capacity. Why increase the capacity to 50k? Seems an insane waste of money to me.

Matildas smash ratings records with quarter-final triumph - and there's more to come

You want the govt to build an 80k capacity rectangular stadium in Melbourne for an event that Australia will almost certainly not get? And even if it did, it would achieve capacity…how many times? None of the rectangular codes are regularly pushing the capacity of the 30k AAMI Park…

How is a capacity crowd “small”?

Only factual answers please…

Nope. No need for a player like him at the Giants. There’s probably more of an argument for him at the Suns, but I’m not sure even that’s the right call. Couple of years ago, sure, but now? I don’t see it being a success.

Would Dusty be the perfect fit for the Giants?

Yep. One good game and the media loses its collective mind!

Now if he takes the team to finals next year, that would be a massive achievement.

Six Points: Defending Daicos' 'dive', the moment that summed up Saints' slide, and why Mitchell is the AFL's best coach

“It wasn’t quiet a decoy role”

I don’t think that’s quite what you meant…

The fitness seems questionable. Lots of the mistakes are happening in the last 20 mins or so. Does the squad have enough time to rectify this problem before the WC?

Wallabies player ratings: Young forwards fire but key players struggle in Bledisloe heartache

They’re world champions and retained the Ashes. There’s not really much more they can achieve…

The best coach for the Australian cricket team was at the Ashes but in the commentary box

Ha – I knew this article would pop up!

I’m not sure there’s a lot of evidence that Ponting would be a good coach. In fact, just look at how he’s gone in the IPL for some real world evidence to the contrary.

Great commentator though (although if he could just learn to ‘breathe and slow down’ when he gets excitable that would be awesome… 😂 ).

I dunno, I wouldn’t write them off just yet. Of the three teams you group together – Geelong, Sydney and Richmond, I would feel most positive about the Cats this season. Richmond hasn’t clicked this year and the Swans just seem too banged up.

They've faded too far in 2023 - where to now for Geelong?

But the disappointing thing for me is that they only needed to score at well under 3 runs an over with all wickets available at the start of the day. Plus two of England’s bowlers were not fully fit.

Wonderful Woakes and Bairstow stunner sink Aussies as ball change debate, Stokes catch howler end Ashes in drama

Fifth day pitches these days are fine. It’s not like ‘the old days’ when pitches would actually deteriorate over the five days. The Australian batsmen just aren’t tough enough mentally.

Really should have won that match. Carey dropping Brook on 5 (amongst multiple dropped catches) and Khawaja and Labuschagne’s bizarre go slow batting in the first innings were the obvious events. And really, when you only have to 250 in a day and have all wickets in hand you really should achieve that, particularly with two England bowlers less than fully fit.

This Australian team has talent, but not the mental fortitude to be a great team.

Sigh…

“ Murphy is the obvious replacement for Warner.”

😂

Why Australia need to start regenerating ageing Test team now before it’s too late

Calling time on that career should have happened last year, but oh what a career it was! Even in the twilight of his career this year he’s still the only genuine superstar of the game. On field I don’t think the Swans will miss him too greatly for the rest of this season, but the PR department will be in despair. Will be fascinating to see what the club’s next recruiting jackpot will be. From Capper, through Lockett, Hall and now Franklin, the Swans do love a superstar up front!

Farewell to Buddy, the greatest player of the 21st century and the game's most awe-inspiring entertainer

Such a shame when a champion goes out like this. Truly one of the greats. But for this season, while it’s bad news for the Swans PR department, I don’t think it’s all that big of a blow. McDonald and Amartey now have a clear run for the rest of the season to show us what they can do.

AFL News: Bye, bye Buddy - legend's career call, Zorko accuses rival of 'grab the groin and squeeze' tactics

True. Except that Australia don’t have to score quickly. Well under 3 an over gets it done. And they have all wickets in hand. Really, they should do it relatively easily from this point. If they don’t, it will be because they aren’t strong enough mentally.

They couldn't... could they? Khawaja-Warner century stand on rained-out fourth day gives Aussies a chance

As pitches don’t deteriorate to any significant degree anymore, these sorts of run chases will become more common I suspect. It’s another reason comparing eras is largely meaningless.

They couldn't... could they? Khawaja-Warner century stand on rained-out fourth day gives Aussies a chance

Despite the first innings conditions being better for batting…

Weird.

“ They couldn’t… could they? Khawaja-Warner century stand on rained-out fourth day gives Aussies a chance”

From the position they’re now in?

More than could – they really should now.

Full credit to the openers – that was an excellent stand. Not sure why they couldn’t do that in the first innings…

And that’s a failing of the coaches. There’s a whole bunch of people in the dressing room on laptops. What on earth are they all doing?!?
