Agreed. He is a gun centre, strong in attack and defence. I can see why the Roosters persisted. Injury free next year should see him pushing for a NSW jumper.

Tend to agree SSTID, however the squad was pretty at round 11 stage of the season.
I wonder if there is a bit of the next big head coach not finding the going easy. Like Ciraldo, Demetriou had a long apprenticeship. No doubt does the technical things well but maintaining team unity over 27 weeks and then managing to peak in week 27 is more an art than a science. Perhaps that chapter had been ripped out of the manual Bennett gave Demetriou?

Yep. NSW suck.
Fox and Walsh, very bad look pumping the jumper after being marched. Hope someone gives them some ‘feedback’. Nothing to be proud of sucker punching and headbutting in the last minute of a done game

When you look at the side on view.
Tino initiates the contact. He seeks to make forceful contact with the defender in a similar manner to a fend. Except he uses his forearm on the defenders head.
I don’t think Tino plays origin II.

I was really suprisedthat Capewell got dropped. He has been great for QLD and has been in reasonable form this year.

Both coaches taking major gambles with rookies who can be match-winners but also make costly blunders

Agree. To,o doesn’t deserve auto selection. He has been relatively quiet. Fittler will be criticised for picking another fullback in the team if he picks Edwards. I support Edwards selection but can’t see it happening.

Dont know the answer, but a game from that era is more than worth a watch. On first glance it looks the same but then subtle differences start to jump out. Like the ball catchers returning off the kick-off 😁

I hear you loud and clear. I often wonder if the team was chosen just on merit each year without the pressure of a game being played (academic exercise) how different the teams would be. Like an all-australian or dally m 5/8 of the year.
If its on form and merit, Nicho is probably first picked. Come on Freddie, you can do it. Imagine having a second kicker, Imagine having a half who isn’t firing up the Qld pack. Imagine having a half that doesn’t go missing?
