You’d have to be a real sad sack not to appreciate the determination and dedication these two women have put into achieving this (as with all other young men and women still trying to achieve this goal). Hats off to them. Hope they go well. Sharpe went well last night. Missed a forward pass, but still did a top job.

Lots of imposters in the finals or still competing for the finals. Obviously the top 4 are all a chance, although I predict early exit for the Warriors. On the bottom half, Newcastle are the only contenders. Love the way they are playing right now. Home semi chance gives them a real boost. For the also rans you’ve got Cronulla, Canberra, Souths, Easts and the Cowboys. Nothing to get excited about with those plodding varieties.

Might be an advantage for Penrith to finish 2nd. They’ll get Warriors first up and send them crashing towards straight sets exit.

It’s the local derby and sometimes that can bring an element of surprise for Parra-Penrith games. But Penrith could bring in Priddis, the Puletua brothers, Wesser and Joel Clinton and they’ll still belt Parra by plenty.

I’m no football expert but that was a good contest. Both sides piled on the pressure at times. And the shootout….lordy. Those women work hard with great skill. Bad luck France.

England’s tail offers way more than ours. They blast boundaries and show some fight. When you look at ours it’s like watching Kenya play the Windies pace battery of the 1980s. Starc has tried to dig in, and Cummins did hit the winning runs in Game 1, but slim pickings since.

Just hope we can get back on track in the 5th Test because a horror show was looming in Manchester. Our batsmen have got to get a solid 1st innings total and bat for 2 days and give England nothing.

The only time I’ve ever been interested in the Comm Games was the 2018 Gold Coast edition. That’s because the cycling road race went past my house. It’s time for the games to retire.

Only chance we have is with Head and Marsh eking out another 100 runs. Somewhere near a 250 lead gives the bowlers a chance. The tail will get scorched by Wood.
