It’s interesting Payten referred to the Cowboys not matching the Panthers physically. Thing is a lot of things get penalised that some teams can do that others can’t. Tago’s swinging arm on Taulagi to the head would have penalised if the jersey were on opposite I reckon. Then Edwards fired up and dragged Feldt off Cleary but it was far less than Martin, Creighton, Cleary and others were dishing out in tackles. I only wish both teams knew what was going to let go and what was going to be penalised. From week to week it changes.

Very entertaining game. Both teams were relatively evenly matched with outs. It produced an even contest with a great opportunity for talented players to show their stuff. Funny I see no mention of Sailor’s foot coming in contact with an opponent while jumping in the air. LOL.

Hosing from his mouth? A fat lip maybe . That’s some great hyperbole TB. O’Sullivan didn’t leave the field and had plenty to say at the ref straight after the contact. I’m wondering if he had a blood transfusion just to get to full time on your television. Anyway it would appear there is no charge and neither Bennett or Payten thought it was a great issue even after being asked on 3 separate occasions at the post game conference? Maybe Neame suffering a fractured throat from a stray elbow against the Dolphins had Bennett and Captain not wanting to say much?

Yeah he has literally lifted his foot so many times in his career. I take it you’re fine with collecting a player in the air also? Like I said if you’re going defend a flying reverse elbow from your team that fractures the face of an opponent along with Luai rubbish you have little credibility.

Fracturing an opponents face jumping into contact and swinging the elbow cocked at 90 degrees is purely accident in your eyes. Oh only if it’s a Panthers player doing it of course. The biggest accidental contact of the weekend I’m guessing is the young Panther belting Sivo with the fist on the end of a swinging arm? Or is it the Digit up an opponent’s backside?

So I guess when the ball is in Feldt’s hands and O’Sullivan is 2m away he’s a chance of contesting the ball? Come on, Feldt is literally holding the ball and looking away ( at the ball behind his shoulder) when O’Sullivan makes the contact. If Feldt was looking at O’Sullivan on contact I’d agree. If Feldt wasn’t leaning back and taking the ball behind him I’d agree. If Feldt wasn’t still in the air I’d probably agree. If Feldt’s leg straightened or he locked his leg straight I’d probably agree. For you to say O’Sullivan is going to contest the ball when Feldt already has it in his arms with O’Sullivan feet firmly on the ground before the contact is not actually watching the contact. Yes Feldt runs towards the ball but he leaps straight up. Feldt has no forward momentum as he is coming down. Officials and bunker concluded it was accidental yet here we have hyperbole hysteria. If Feldt had any force behind it I’d suggest O’Sullivan would have been injured considering his own speed coming into the contact? Maybe Feldt slightly miss judge his leap and had to lean back further than he intended? Fact is catching the ball behind your shoulder is a good safe technique because it prevents opponents from getting to the ball and if you lose it it will go backwards.

Poor Sticky didn’t get every call. The Broncos challenged 2 calls and won both? They could have challenged another 2 and won but didn’t because they realise how flexible the Bunker is. How Rapana’s even available after last week is looking after the Raiders. They were handed several wins through this season by questionable officiating and their position in the 8 is somewhat farcical considering they are not even in the top 12 in for and against. Come on Ricky you owe the blokes your abusing a few beers.

Frizzell didn’t notice? LOL. Hitting people in the head isn’t related to head high? LOL. Lashing out with the leg ( Kikau, J.Reynolds)and contacting with the boot isn’t kicking? LOL. Mate if you can defend a bloke mule kicking another player lying on the ground with “he’s holding on to his leg”. I think I can say what I have in Feldt’s defence. As for all over the shop. One minute you’re carrying on about defenders being responsible about aiming too high and next minute there was nothing in the Mitchell contact? Usually Mad woman stuff. The only blokes that kick people are Reynolds and Kikau.

O’Sullivan is the bloke with all the momentum. So you can’t jump and have your leg in the air? Have you ever watched long jump or high jump? Next time a cricketer gets horizontal catching a ball you’ll be screaming he’s deliberately trying to kick his team mate in the head.

Have a good look at the contact and tell me how it’s a kick? His leg is straight before contact and collapse on contact. He caught the ball behind him yet you think he’s looking at O’Sullivan? Remember carrying on like a pork chop about Preston never “did a hip drop”. It so obviously an anti Queensland thing. LOL.

In the game before Lomax received a HIA from an attackers knee in the head? Feldt has been catching the ball back over his shoulder for a while. A lot of players do it. He’s probably accentuated that position so he doesn’t get knees in the back or caught upright and carried backward.If Feldt is falling backwards with the flight of the ball his leg will be always be a counter balance and O’Sullivan has no intention of contesting the ball. You say Feldt kicked O’Sullivan? but Feldt’s leg is full extended before contact and crumples back on contact with O’Sullivan? That suggests the opposite to a kicking action? I’d suggest the 3 Dolphins players in front of O’Sullivan were all inside the 10m also?

I’m interested to know if Feldt is still in the air when his foot hits Sullivan? If Sullivan isn’t trying to catch the ball he’s not allowed to touch the legs of a player in the air catching the ball.

Are they not allowed to retire once the ball is fed? Literally the defending half can move anywhere once the ball is in they just can’t advance past their pack before the ball is out is my understanding? They don’t have to be back with the outside backs

I’m sure it’s never been illegal for a half to feed the scrum and retreat. It’s not knew it’s just teams don’t do it. It’s like many teams don’t pass the ball early in the count or coming out of their own half. I applaud teams using passing skills and set plays to score tries. I’m most happy to see the offside from Cleary’s kick s scrutinised more. I do feel Panthers kick chase and line speed has been questionable for a couple of seasons. It’s been a cornerstone to their success utilising the excellent kicking game of Cleary.

Jimmmy don’t you remember them penalising the Cowboys earlier this year because they tackled a player as he lost the ball forward whilst trying to catch it? Tackled whilst not in possession I believe they called it.

TPA’s are usually acquired by clubs through sponsors or wealthy benefactors. Sponsors are usually looking for something in the way of marketing. That comes from FTA games? Now that’s not always fairly split if you compared Broncos to Cowboys or Tigers to Souths. Wealthy benefactors are very persuasive if they are invested in the teams success also. Not all clubs have the massively rich individuals at their disposal unfortunately.

I think it falls into dangerous contact unfortunately. Obviously accidental but I really can’t see how you end up not getting penalised for cleaning out a players legs in the air attempting to catch the football.

Did Latrell actually miss him? Or did he just miss hurting him? He didn’t miss Manu and I actually thought it was partly accidental at that time. Maybe I gave Latrell too much benefit.
