I think alot of people are forgetting Australia had chances on the first day as well. 2 good ones that come to mind is the phantom nick, and heads mis catch.

Honestly don’t know how you can say Kitto over Bos with a straight face.

Bos just broke the transfer record, held the club captain out of his role in a successful team, and is in all likelyhood going to win rookie of the year tomorrow.

Kitto was porous in defence. Case and point, he got skinned by Nizzy, that led to the first goal in the second semi.

I’m sorry, 12 – 2 on aggregate, and being soundly beaten in all 4 games goes beyond the realm of luck.

Sure you may snag a goal hear or avoid a goal there.

But over the 4 legs the Mariners had 18 more shot, 12 more shots on goal, and an accumulated pass accuracy percentage that was 5% higher (81% to 76%)

Mate, for the first half of the year you stated the Mariners would be lucky to make the top 6, because of there wieghting it home games at the start of the season. The Mariners have the second highest away points, and second highest for and against away.

*Your point about the worst squad on paper ignores the fact that almost every position on the pitch had depth and therefore drove compition. It also ignores Monty’s reputation of scouting decent players.

* Monty isn’t a yes man, from what I’m aware he is the only coach to have been given a red in the history of the comp (happy to be corrected on this one if I’m wrong, but stats a hard to come by in this area), this will cost him the manager of the year award (basically embarrassing what ever manager does eventually win it)

He is however a professional, and let’s the players abilities do the talking. Also because he isn’t moaning every second week about the decision when he brings up an issue he holds more weight.

*Finally I’d like to address the interstate home & away point you keep trying to raise as a legitimate stat. What follows is each team, the amount of wins to games played interstate, and the percentages (within the regular season):

MC – 4 of 13 – 30.8%
CCM – 3 of 8 – 37.5%
AU – 4 of 13 – 30.8%
WSW – 1 of 7 – 14.3%
SFC – 3 of 12 – 25%
WP – 4 of 13 – 30.8%
WU – 4 of 10 – 40%
BR – 3 of 13 – 23.1%
PG – 1 of 13 – 7.7%
NJ – 1 of 7 – 14.7%
MV – 3 of 13 – 23.1%
MAC – 0 of 6 – 0%

As you can see CCM has the second highest percentage of victories out of state, if you were to include the final series wins and losses, CCM would be the highest.

Mate, Goodwin is only the 3rd player in Aleague history to score a double double in a season. Now I’m not gunna call AU a one player team, you don’t get to the top with just one player, but his contribution is undeniable. If CCM want any chance of winning this game, it will be central to their plans to keep him quiet.

PGA have a monopoly on one of the richest sports in the world, there were Major clubs that up until five years ago didn’t include women.

Sportswashing seems to only be a word used when it benifits those controlling the status quo. No-one brings up the fact the PGA was touring SA two years at before LIV was created.

I m big fan of how the team is now playing. By all accounts alot of it can be attributed to Jens Fjellström, bloke is alot more technically minded than TG. if you watch there warm ups he’s extremely involved, and his appearance just so happens to coincide with there resergence.

I’m still a naysayer of TG, this has JF’s fingerprints all over it, bloke is a much more practical coach.

I’m glad TG brought him. They seem to work well as a pairing. TG on the man management, and JF on the practicalities.
