What’s that George Costanza line about lying…
“It’s not an assault if you don’t believe it’s an assault”. I think that’s how the Rubiales and Trump’s of the world operate.

I'm the victim: Spanish soccer boss claims 'witch hunt' from 'false feminists' trying to drive him out over Hermoso kiss

Ok fair enough. There is an x factor about Silvera and Arnie is probably just playing the game to appease the media hounds.

Silvera and Burgess lead Socceroos new breed as Arnold reveals why he rejected Hibs

Geez he has literally just unpacked his suitcases and you’re already on his case about “has he done anything”?
Have you ever played or coached football at any level?

“So you can have your giggle fest for a few weeks every four years, the NRL & AFL dominate the sporting landscape in this country for nine months a year, every year”.
The more you speak the more you embarrass yourself.

The world's noticing Australia's football talent - maybe some of our locals should too

“Fundamentally it still remains that the best talent in the country will seek NRL or AFL careers.”
How do you know?

The world's noticing Australia's football talent - maybe some of our locals should too

“It’s finals time!”
And yet here you are on the sokkah tab.

The world's noticing Australia's football talent - maybe some of our locals should too

The Brett Allens of this world scoff at A League players but then marvel at the amazing world class athletes in the NRL. Who would have thought that a few westies from Penrith and a few Pacific Islanders are actually world class athletes (legends, superstars) and they all chose league as their game. Truly amazing.

Grem and anyone retired that was better than legend has to be an immortal.

What’s with the mods and your articles? Especially some of the tripe they publish from non football people.

Sacré bleu! Is Ligue 1 the most underrated league in world football?

True yes. I was referring to post Qatari buyout. And with Messi and Neymar gone, maybe they will come back to the pack a little. My point was more along the lines of only one club in France having all the obscene money to buy their way to success.
At least in other leagues there are more than 1 with the finances.

Sacré bleu! Is Ligue 1 the most underrated league in world football?

Have to agree with you in that its a 1 horse race in France. At least in the other countries its a 2-3 horse race.
But the football in France is fast and frenetic with lots of African origin players adding to that. It can be enjoyable to watch but inevitably it’s PSG first and someone from the rest second.

Good points. And the wheels seem to have come off during and after SOO.
Hopefully they get a second wind to cause problems in the semi’s (if they make it).
They look a beaten team to me however. Hope I’m wrong

How has it all gone so wrong for Souths in 2023?

Lol yes – here in Sydney they play AFL underground.
It’s silly in your view because you try to trivialise it and other AFL fans say “interesting” when a clear bias is being shown.
If it was “silly” as you say, the parasitic, scared of their own shadow AFL wouldn’t be running interference at football every chance they get.
Funny how you don’t point out these “silly” games the AFL plays right?

Queensland to celebrate Matildas' legacy with funding boost - but most of it is already going to Rugby and AFL

I was coaching a session on the northern beaches here in Sydney on an oval. There were football posts of course and along the perimeters AFL posts. When I asked do they use this ground for AFL as well, I was told “no, but the AFL paid us a lot of money to put them up”.
Same in other grounds I’ve been at. There are AFL posts on some of them but I’ve never seen any AFL games played on them. Build it and they will come maybe?
And there have been well documented stories of the AFL paying schools to have kids play AFL. This didn’t last long as kids refused to play and parents got involved.
So yes, I stand by what I said. The AFL use funds to bribe their way in. Not muh luck though in NSW.

LH the only fees that would be cheaper than football and Union would be AFL and league. Those organisations heavily subsidise the fees because they are cash rich from TV deals and govt handouts. When those gravy trains dry up lets see where fees are then.

Chris L – You keep clouding the argument here.
Ok really simple:
Where were you with your articles on funding when the sokkah folk kept yelling that there were a lack of funds?
Where were you?
Where were you when people kept saying that AFL gets way more funding than it deserves?
Where were you then with your articles?
Now – you have this need to write articles. Why?
I know the answer but maybe you can tell everyone on here?
That you’re an AFL fan and you don’t like that the spotlight is now on sokkah and it needs more funds. Right?
We can’t have money taken away from your AFL now can we?

It makes you wonder how this bloke ever got as high as he has. Grabbing his crotch in celebration, picking up women and full face planting kisses – all on global showing.
It’s sad that he has lost his job etc, as there are probably way more disgraceful individuals in UEFA/FIFA – but I guess don’t do it on global TV.

Afraid?
Just another AFL fanboy going to write an article regarding football. Tiresome.

Oh gee thanks for all that advice. Why didn’t I think of contacting the council and write to appropriate authorities etc.
But you keep harping on “show me the figures”.
Like I said – where were these articles before? Now that football is front and centre and looking like we are going to get funds, the AFL types like Chris L suddenly feel the urge to write articles about funding.

RT no I’ve seen enough data and I experience the lack of funding in football (especially women’s) through lack of grounds, lighting, changerooms etc at the grassroots level through my involvement with the game. Meanwhile other grounds (cricket and league) sit empty with lights on.
Like I said, where were the Chris L’s of this country when no one was listening to us about the need for more funding? Where were his articles then?
Suddenly, the govt is talking about providing more funds for football and here is Chris L with his upcoming investigative journalist piece.

Yeah totally missed my point

Grem the pure joy and reaction from the crowd after Kerr scored, will remain with me forever. A goal of pure class from a truly global superstar. I was also in the crowd and the roar was reminiscent of when Bresciano scored against Uruguay in 2005. The noise just went straight through you.

Busted stereotypes and a new appreciation for football: AFL and NRL fans react to the FIFA Women's World Cup

Good article Mid. The perception of commentators is very interesting. The rugby league commentators whether it’s on TV or radio are just constantly shouting, constantly offering opinions on this, that and the other.
Basically your auditory senses are assaulted and it’s hard to enjoy the game for you to come to your own conclusions etc. I think football commentators are streets ahead in this. The older cricket commentators are also very good and as Richie Benaud once said, never commentate on things that people can see for themselves.

Busted stereotypes and a new appreciation for football: AFL and NRL fans react to the FIFA Women's World Cup

It’s funny how you never see the need to “investigate funding” when money is thrown at the parasitic AFL.
But here you are giving us the patronising “yes funding in soccer is bad…but…let me check it out”.
You are an AFL stooge who likes to spend time on this tab with your pontificating attitude and “I love lots of sports” rubbish.

Queensland to celebrate Matildas' legacy with funding boost - but most of it is already going to Rugby and AFL

“very easy to see why we don’t get funds with arguments like that”
I’m not presenting facts and figures to anyone that has their hands on the govt purse strings.
My point about semantics is that we all know we are grossly underfunded.
Everything else is white noise.
