I think you have mistaken the criteria,Phil.It states the Greatest World Cup XV,not cup winners XV.If it was only winners then they could have titled it Best Wallaby XV from 1991/1999 World Cups!

I think I would rate Smith better than either of them.Good players, but Smith is rated up with McCaw as one of the greatest 7’s.

There was really only 2 in the halves contest.I think NFJ was a better half but Gregan did it over a longer period so it is probably fair enough.
Only problem I had with Gregan was that his form tailed off considerably towards the end of his career.

Mike,The only problem with Jorgensen dropping out,is I understand you cannot replace a player if he succumbs to an injury carried into the tournament.He would have to fake a different injury and I doubt if that will happen.

Peter,although Hodgson is defence coach,don’t you think Eddie would be having a fair amount of input as well?I know they all have their roles,but I doubt if the head coach would just sit back and say nothing.

Enjoy the opportunity, debutants – I’m not sure how many more there will be as Wallabies enter must-win mode

I would be surprised if he has been selected as a “project player”.I expect Eddie hopes to play him in a pool game.Surely project players are for normal end of year tours,not for a world cup squad?

No argument there,scrum,but it just highlighted even more Tate’s weakness.You could just as easily compare his pass to Smith or Roigard.The other problem is that White is not that great either.

Christy,is that a typo for Kellaway ratings?I thought the back 3 were outstanding for the Wallabies,with Kellaway at least a 7 in comparison to the other 2.You are being a bit generous with Tate as well.He still throws too many wayward passes and playing against Dupont just highlights the huge difference in abilities.

That’s the first time I have heard that.I would think his shoulder injury is what kept him out.I wish he was back in though.

Just shows you how much they need Kerevi.Also highlights Wallabies biggest problem(beside having a decent goal kicker),lack of depth in vital positions.I am sure we can put a starting 15 out to compete with most teams,but not having the bench strength is going to hurt us.

Thank you,Bluesfan,for adding a bit of common sense to counter these losers who keep knocking guys that have played rugby at the highest level.They have obviously never pulled on a rugby jersey and appreciated what it must take to play international rugby,or even top grade club rugby for that matter.
