One of my favourites. Was like Australia’s version of Etzebeth. I remember when Vickerman and Horwill paired up in 2011. Probably our meanest and most agro pairing we’ve had that I can recall.

Greatest XV: 'Big imposing bear you wanted to be around'- Dan Vickerman was the 'hardest worker' on and off the field

Massive effort from the whole team but I specifically remember Ashley-Cooper making some incredible rush decisions to shut down the overlap on a number of occasions. Underrated guy that I look back on fondly.

The Wrap: Magical World Cup moments and memories that left an indelible mark, and the promise of so much more

Cheers, Geoff. Lots of great memories over the years starting with my first in ‘03. Fiji and Rupeni Caucaunibuca running amok was probably my most enjoyable. Everyone at school wanted to try and emulate some of his moves. That and buying those stupid Gilbert gloves everyone seemed to be wearing at the time.
.
2011 QF at the cake tin with my Dad. Amazing memory watching Pocock almost single-handedly taking on the Boks. And of course that defensive wall display against Wales in 2015 whilst down 2 men.

Cheers Brett. I secretly love the jersey articles…

Argentina and Fiji have absolutely brained it. Don’t mind the Scots either (I’m a sucker for simplicity).

Lots of chat around the Wallabies colour but I love it. In my opinion, they’ve done as well as they can to match the 1991 gold that was voted on. Of course, the level of gold was always dependent on how drenched in sweat it was with those old cotton jerseys but that almost burnt orange/gold always resonated with me:

From 'hang it in the Louvre' bangers to the worst World Cup jersey ever - we rate the good, bad and Irish of RWC kits

I have that book! Was some school fundraising thing (I can’t remember I was young) and after I was in the top 3 I got to pick my prize from a selection of books.

Spotted Wallaby Gold with Burke and Kefu on the front and went “I want this one”.

Greatest XV: 'Everyone yelled Owen Finegan! World Champion! And I drank out of the Cup'

Seeing Rob Valetini’s cap sitting atop his magnificent afro gives me a good chuckle.

'We need to change the mindset': Key area to fix for RWC outlined as Eddie's men shown off in welcome ceremony

Absolute magician. Incredibly tough for Pocock not to feature but Smith was one of the best to ever do it.

Greatest XV: 'Best player I've seen' - Australia's magnificent 7, despised by All Blacks and cherished by Eddie

Wow. That’s absolutely wild if he didn’t think he’s our first choice 13. One of the few world class guys we have.

'We've got a few out': Slipper set to miss RWC opener as Eddie opens up on 'fascinating experiment' campaign

Amen. My Dad and I were there at the cake tin. Boks fans all around us were devastated but in awe of him.

Greatest XV: 'Bloody special': Three meat pies and flailing fists announced Toutai Kefu to the world

Flats was very good for us in ‘03. And I’d argue, Gits was as important at 12 for us in ‘15.

Greatest XV: How Tim Horan's unsung 80-metre play turned the 1991 World Cup final

Would’ve liked one of Tupou or Bell on the bench to help support those greener boys. That could get ugly but only one way of finding out.

Wallabies CONFIRMED: Eddie makes four changes in final pre-World Cup hit out, Suli and Foketi named

Thanks Haz. As we all know, props are the key to success or failure. It rests on their well-sculpted shoulders. So, tighthead for the wallabies is the key for mine.

I’ve been there. Just posted an article this morning on a staff member getting Broker of the year. I titled it “2022 Finalist…”

Oh did I cop it.

'Like a mate having a beer': Eddie explains Hansen role and 'two main areas' where ABs legend has helped Wallabies

“Hansen, winner of the 1995 World Cup”

Bloody hell, that’s impressive.

'Like a mate having a beer': Eddie explains Hansen role and 'two main areas' where ABs legend has helped Wallabies

Thanks, Brett. Commented on this last week with my thoughts but the crux for me is this “what will most resonate with fans”.

I cannot for the life of me understand how a Brisbane/Sydney club-based competition would do anything but alienate more rugby fans in this country. Waugh cannot honestly expect your average fan from Canberra or Melbourne getting on board and enjoying a game between Brothers and Randwick. And why would they?

If we cannot get an NRC competition back due to costs, just run Super AU. You then have QLD v ACT and I’m sure fans from around those two states would be much more invested in that match up than tuning in to watch Brisbane and Sydney clubs every week.

RA's target of a third tier in 2024 raises a whole heap of questions in desperate need of answers

That much coaching IP, experience and success can only help us. Good gas.

'Cancel his citizenship!' PM weighs in, ABs 'gobsmacked', as Hansen explains why he's helping Wallabies

“A shoulder takes a lot longer”

It certainly does.

ANALYSIS: How lost soul re-emerged to become Eddie's Wallabies 15 - and the surprising back-up who could still star

It’s just a position mate. There’s a big, diamond-encrusted, high-backed chair that sits atop Moore Park for the chairman to sit. And the great eye of Sauron Hamish is ever watchful.

Is that you Michael Caine?

Doubts of a Wallaby: The maligned cross-code star who fought through tears to make Eddie's RWC campaign

Well, good luck to you Suli if you’re given a chance. I really want you to prove us all wrong.

Give yourself an uppercut Rob! Then be nice to me.

'Give yourself upper cuts': Eddie furious at journos after 'worst press conference I've ever had'

Well, I’m sure those reporters will be a lot more positive about Eddie after getting told to uppercut themselves…

'Give yourself upper cuts': Eddie furious at journos after 'worst press conference I've ever had'

I’ll be incredibly disappointed if this is the path they choose to go. And what’s even more depressing is I am not even the slightest bit surprised they would either.

Why RA CEO is leaning into 'beating heart' of club rugby in third tier plan as crunch talks loom

So do I mate, albeit not these days since I moved to Sydney. But when I was a lot younger it would be playing for Wests Doggies, getting a snag or burger after my match then watching the big boys play.

I’d head with my Dad or mates to Ballymore, then later on Suncorp, and we’d watch the Reds to see the real deal guys.

As I got older, I still lived in Toowong and would walk across with my best mate and we’d bring an esky and sit on top of the hill watching Wests then stumble to Regatta afterwards for some jugs. I loved that. And I don’t think that needs to change.

I think if this Shute/Hospital idea goes ahead, all it will do is alienate and exclude more current and potential fans that don’t align or connect with the chose clubs. As much as I’d love watching my Wests, I can’t picture a guy from Perth or Canberra getting on board.
