The difference between what is possible and impossible, is merely the determination of a man’s mind.

Setback that could cruel Wallabies' RWC hopes - but all hope not lost if Eddie sticks with Gen Next
Thanks mz, a few kiwis still condemn him from the past.
It is plain to see that he has learnt from the past to become one of the great refs, in general life everyone has made mistakes however it is how you grow from them to provide encouragement to others. 👍
The Wrap: Don’t buy Eddie Jones taking the blame for another Bledisloe loss, buy the hope instead
I agree, and it is the same with players and coaches in terms of needing time to develop properly.

Australia in all honesty do not have a bomb squad John, however I do agree with your sentiments.

One thing that impresses me about him Geoff, is that he understands the different interpretations between both hemispheres and uses both when referring Southern Hemisphere sides.
You can see him helping the players to understand what he wants and is non confrontational when relaying it, this helps with trust and clarity and this leaves it up to the players to make the required adjustments.
I have watched him closely to understand about his progression, and you cannot have anything but respect for him as a ref! Also he is reluctant to give out cards unless it is clear and obvious, or the TMO advises him in that regard.
A certain Welsh ref comes to mind when he also would communicate with the players and would sometimes add humour, it is important for the ref to have a strong relationship with the players by being on their level and this is a real strength of Barnes.

Pone and Lonergan should be called up to start, Gordon should be starting again also as one average game should not reflect what he has done overall..
Captaincy is now an issue with injuries etc hitting the team, you need a player leads from the front and is a hard nose player! There is where someone like Bell could be a good option, a Captain needs to galvanise the team especially when the going is tough.
With the RWC almost upon us consistency in selections is now required and not experimentations, prop is the major area of concern now and unfortunately this is a position where Australia is thin in.
There is a core group of players to build around but this will take longer than one season under a new coach, realistically 2027 RWC will be the time when the Wallabies will be a real force depending on the coach continuing to build with the current players.

Thank you Geoff for another great write up.
It is good that you brought up Barnes as he deserves recognition for a great performance, it was obvious that he wanted the game to flow and as he does his communication with the players was pleasing.
I am sure that many Kiwis appreciate him and how much that he has grown as a ref, he made a couple of mistakes but that is what makes the game great because of the human side and just like coaches and players refs deserve to have ground for errors.

33 unanswered points and a score of 38-7.
Yes moaman, they probably deserved the win… 😂 👍

Thanks BF, I think 😂
Imagine Foster drinking fosters from the Cup?
That would be a dream advertisement for fosters brewery.

Bell had a good game but 8.5 rating?
He is a prop and was dominated at scrum time which contributed to the ABs dominating there, sometimes players get higher ratings because others were poor.
IMO Skelton was better than the 7 rating given, he made crucial plays when the ABs had momentum and has added more strengths to his game since he is more confident due to playing great up North.
I would stick with the younger players for Dunedin especially considering that the ABs will bring in changes to give other players a chance, the Wallabies do not have the same luxury so combo’s need to develop with consistency in selections.
Wallabies player ratings: Halves taught Bledisloe Cup lesson as star prop steps up
Nah! We have Razor the sharp one, next kiwi to coach the Wallabies should be Foster!
Studs and duds: 'Can't do that in Tests' - Tate flaw exposed, Hooper divides opinion, 'absolutely incredible' Angus
I put that others around him did not help, the top sides have multiple players contesting rucks and mauls where as Skelton has had to take that responsibility.
If he had more support then physically he would be fine as when he played in the Northern Hemisphere, imagine Andre the Giant trying to play 80 minutes of Rugby back in the day… 😱

The big worry is that Eddie says that they are on the right track, but reality was that the ABs changed their playing style and were far from their best.
It seems that Foster and co are looking at different approaches for different teams, unlike against SA they were focused on keeping it narrow especially on the left side.
Skelton again impressed me and got involved in the messy stuff, he single handily stopped the ABs momentum at crucial times! He will have silenced many detractors with his form over the first 3 games, and Marky continues to show his ability which is exciting for the Wallabies.
Certainly replacing the assistant coaches has had a negative effect on the team, there is no better defence coach in Australia than Fischer and this is showing especially when you compare this game to last season at the same venue.
Some are saying that Cooper is past his best, without realising that by the time that he came on the Wallabies were already on the back foot.
White was poor and his yapping was put in its place by Scotty, if you look at him and Roigard the difference is stark. Roigard was crisp with his passes and was testing the Wallabies around the edges, he kept his mouth quiet as he is not the sort of player at least yet to question the ref as he is focused on himself and the team.
What stood out is that Foster stays quiet unlike Eddie, and the players follow suit, the ABs give no ammunition for the opposition and the ref.

All Blacks smash Wallabies to seal Bledisloe AGAIN as Eddie's pain grows after devastating injury to star prop
I agree Highlander, I guess that they wanted to try another style while not giving too much away.
All Blacks smash Wallabies to seal Bledisloe AGAIN as Eddie's pain grows after devastating injury to star prop
The benches played a major role, the ABs replacements provided momentum while the Wallabies bench had little impact.
0-3 for Eddie now which will increase the pressure on not just himself but RA also.
Aaron Smith, Mo’unga, Will Jordan and all three Barrett brothers had huge games especially when the Wallabies had the ABs under pressure.
Another YC for the Wallabies and worse when it was a player that should have been replaced with a significant injury, the injuries could have a serious impact on both the players and team for the RWC.

Congratulations BPA and to the Wallaby supporters, this is great to get him back.
While still recovering from his injury I suspect Eddie to get him around the squad, this would help to get him up to speed in terms of how the current team are adapting.

True Ken.

Yes! Ken, it is great to see passion as long as it is respectful unlike some on here.
Some take comments and inflate them for different reasons, no matter who we support passion should be appreciated… 👍

I understand that Phil, it is that Eddie picks the A side and can comment but the coaches/players in the A but the A setup have to remain silent about their own views.
