Loyal rugby follower. Wasn’t a particularly good player but just loved the comradeship of it all. Ref now in country Qld.

Fowler & Van E are so over rated by the commentating press. They both give possession away so easily, Van E just passes the ball to oppositions. Fowler just looked so lazy when the press was on while others like Foord & Kerr were busting their gut. No excuses for her, she’s younger than Foord, surely she can put it in.
Until the Matildas can keep possession & control the ball right across the park like some of these Euro teams we aren’t going to improve on 4th spot.

Quade of course

Exclusive: 'We'll improve': Eddie's parting shot at Wallabies assistant after sensationally quitting RWC campaign

Agree with you Stuart, Kerr has to be on from the word go. Van Egmond or Fowler offer nothing like Kerr. They both also lose possession very easily, turning the ball over which could hurt Oz. Van Egmond is also too slow to offer any pressure threat.

Gustavsson's gamble: Hold 'em against England, or go all in on Sam Kerr?

Poms should have a warm up game against the Wallabies to lift their spirits.

RWC News: England face 'grisly, full-scale emergency', SBW stunned by Hoops call, Wallabies' pool rival on fire

Disappointed how easily Van Egmond & Fowler lose possession so easily, they just give the ball away at a drop of a hat. Fowler did improve in extra time though. Kerr has to start instead of Van E.

Skelton at C could be another Pat Cummins, no previous experience & gets caught short when the pressure is on.

Eddie has done what was needed four years ago and ripped the bandaid off. Now he's breathed life into Aussie rugby

Disappointed Quade didn’t make it, he still had heaps to contribute even as a mentor to guys like Carter & JP. Yet an old hack like White gets a gig, doesn’t make sense.

Still can’t believe Eddie didn’t tell the Rebel coach to use Carter as a kicker over Hodge in SR. Complete lack of foresight there as Carter was going well back then.

Yes, now that Tate looks to be our regular half, having Wilson & McReight around him gives us so much more attacking options.

'We can be a bloody good team': Eddie says he got selection right and Wallabies can still be RWC threat

McReight has to be in there, for against the AB’s you can get away with a small fetcher type. Plus, he is Tate’s sidekick at the Reds, you have to give them some familiarity with combinations already established.

JL must be having a quiet chuckle about how poorly McDonald & Captain Pat have been handling it all.
At least Langer would’ve had a plan to counter Bazball, not like this lot who seem to be all over the shop.
As you say, they knew Bazball was coming.

UK View: Aussie alpha Cummins 'ruthlessly bossed', 'bereft of ideas' and waiting for rain to 'deliver them from torture'

Thanks Hugh.
Really impressed by how much McKenzie has improved after playing in England. Also Cramer, she was a mongrel dog out there, really giving it all in defence.
How good was the American Ranga winger who scored a couple?
The Candian forwards won’t be a push over & really gave it to the BF’s. Hope the Wallaroos will not be complacent against them after their big win.

I think the Candian commentators called her Olivia.

Throw in other youngsters like FMcR, Harry Wilson, Toole & Petaia as well. Also, a couple of those young props with managed game times. I think the supporters could get behind this even with the short term losses.
Would give Eddie a great excuse as well?

'Disaster': Wallabies hammered by Boks as Eddie Jones' return falls flat

I think Eddie was within his rites to call SA up on this. It put a bit of extra pressure on the Bokke management you’d think. Just imagine what the reaction would’ve been in SA if they had lost in Loftus with not a full strength team.
All good for pre game banter as well.

REACTION: 'You don't have to be a smart arse, mate' - Eddie blows up at journo after Wallabies shocker

Definitely an Eddie game plan that doesn’t suit Quade at all. He needs to have ball in hand & call the shots. If Eddie wants to play this way might as well have a non-thinking five-eight like Hodge in there.

Is Hooper becoming the Warner of the cricket team, selectors don’t have the balls to drop him even though he’s not producing the goods anymore?

Had hoped that this would change with Eddie in charge.

REACTION: 'You don't have to be a smart arse, mate' - Eddie blows up at journo after Wallabies shocker

Not sure on Tom Hooper, his reading of defence was poor in letting two players get around him very easily. Or was it his lack of pace -which is a concern if he wants to own the #6 jersey? Maybe he might be more of a lock down the track?

'Disaster': Wallabies hammered by Boks as Eddie Jones' return falls flat

AAA had a shocker, Kitsch owned him.

'Disaster': Wallabies hammered by Boks as Eddie Jones' return falls flat

Yes, though you swear he lives in Sydney now.

'Disaster': Wallabies hammered by Boks as Eddie Jones' return falls flat

The leaguies take all the best ones now. Or they put their contracted ones into the GPS schools to nurse them along which takes up valuable space that potential rugby players could take up. e.g. one Brisbane school last year had contracted leaguies in prime positions of fly-half, inside centre & fullback, and you wonder why we don’t have any good playmakers coming through. The future rugby guys are playing in the 2nds or 3rds without access to front line coaches & no chance of getting picked in rep sides.

'Disaster': Wallabies hammered by Boks as Eddie Jones' return falls flat

It looked like Quade was maybe following the coach’s game plan, with all the kicking. Plus, he had bugger-all front foot ball.

'Disaster': Wallabies hammered by Boks as Eddie Jones' return falls flat

Couldn’t believe Quade wasn’t taking the regular kicks for goal, Hodge is not a reliable goal kicker, fair enough to give him the long-range ones, even there he has not delivered.
Carter G needs to take over the goal kicking duties at the Rebels, this should have been one of Eddie’s first directives to the Rebels coaching staff when he got the job.

'Disaster': Wallabies hammered by Boks as Eddie Jones' return falls flat

So true, it might as well been Dave coaching. Same disciplinary issues, same team selections & a poor game plan.
