You’ve just equated your national coach to an internet troll, and you’re trying to emulate that, so that somehow you think it makes you both relevant.

I think the world likes seeing England fail, and a generous amount would like to see Eddie brought back to Earth, but I think most want to see the Wallabies do well.

That sounds amazing and thank you for sharing.

THAT is the stuff that tends not to make the highlight feels or sound bite click bait journalism, but is really what rugby is about. At least for a lot of people.

While I’m not necessarily a fan of his, I can certainly respect how much he has innovated on and off the field and put back into SA rugby at many levels.

It’s up to WR to change things – for the RIGHT reasons. Or everyone else gets better.

When the ABs were dominant, it was when we were ahead of the innovation curve. The adage, ‘when you’re on top of your game, change your game’ was taken seriously.

I originally thought this was another case of Eddie contradicting himself from when he said we needed less bench and more fatigue. But what he said still aligns with that.

SA played to what the rules and regulations allowed. Same as when they made their head coach (for all intents and purposes) the ‘water boy’. They were allowed to do it. Or when they run on medics to coach and direct the defensive lines, nothing stopping them doing it. Fair play to them. They aren’t breaking rules.

Breaking conventions is something else, which is really what they’re doing. While some see that as a bad thing. Others will see it as innovation.

The only bit that surprised me was hearing an Australian say, “Find a way to beat it, not complain</em” 😂

Kiwi scientists, using the theory that the offside line is set just in front of Ritchie, have shown conclusively that it’s a physical impossibility for Ritchie to ever be ‘offside’.

No matter what he is doing or where he is, even now, years after retirement, he is still onside.

SBW sets the bar so low you’d have to dig to find it.

Objectivity is fine, its his complete lack of knowledge around current laws etc that are frustrating. But he is not alone in that club when it comes to ex-player commentators.

WCs aside, one of his other more memorable moments was THAT tackle on Goldie… that’s what I remember him for, not so much the snipe at Byron.

George has talked about that, it was a snipe at Byron because he’d been a smartarse apparently. Wasn’t meant for the team. That tackle though…
