'Always illegal': World Rugby successful in appeal as Owen Farrell banned for start of World Cup
I think a lot had to do with a KC representing Farrell. He had the money behind him to emply a senior counsell.
The Wrap: Why the Owen Farrell fiasco is a good thing for rugby
Looking at that tackle, I wouldn’t be surprised if Vunipola miszsed the entire RWC,
Silly Billy: Vunipola sent off as England's chaotic RWC build-up worsens in Ireland, France thump Fiji, Boks torpedo Wales
“Referees are using their judgment to call players onside or offside” spot on. The ref has to make a decision on the spot. Not so the bunker. Had the ref seen the two Souths players offside he would have penalised them. There was also a terrible forward pass missed. Where was the touchie? It isn’t like union was when a club or team official ran the line, ll they could do was rule on the touch line or goalkicks but this is what it appears to be now.
'Frankly, it's rubbish': Annesley blasts criticism from fans over refs while giving bunker green light over dubious decisions
Fox Sports story that Haas will go to rugby for moree money than he can get at the Broncos. Where he might switch codes it won’t be for heaps of money. A league prop who has no experiemnce in union. Backs can adapt pretty quickly but forwards, especially front rowers, will take time. Too much time for him to learn the ropes to be paid a lot. Maybe a small contract to start with then i9ncreases as he progresses.
NRL Transfer Centre: Titans smash NRL record to lock Tino and Fifita down, Broncos offer reduced deal to Oates
Silly me. Reading the headline I thought the squad had been announced.
Exclusive: Quade, Hooper to miss World Cup selection as Jorgensen rockets into squad
I am a Hooper fan but one of his best attributes was his pace for which he now seems lacking. I wouldn’t be surprised to see him miss the cut.
The 23 Wallabies to win a RWC quarterfinal - and the 10 others who should be in Eddie Jones' squad
I feel you;ve gone overboard on VCs. Especially on your 23 for the QF, One captain and five VCs. I’d leave McDermott as captain and no idea for VC in that squad, Should be a forward.
On your 33 man squad, good but I would leave out one loosi as we have Holloway who can play lock or back row, Wouldn’t have White Issak Fines-Leleiwasa in his place. Still not sure on Cooper.
The 23 Wallabies to win a RWC quarterfinal - and the 10 others who should be in Eddie Jones' squad
It depends on how far we are looking ahead. Next home series, fine and probably the Windies in early ’24. Same for the Kiwis shortly after, I think there will be a few changes for the India tour in our 2024 summer.
Is the Australian Test side set up for success over the next four years?
I wouldn’t take White, Fines-Leleiwasa insteadm he wasn’t too bad against Tonga.
Wallabies' PREDICTED World Cup squad: Jones faces defining choice as he locks in 33 for France
Sorry but in the “golden age”, these refs refereed the games not managed them. Maybe if the refs refereed as per the laws of the game penalties, six agains, etc would reduce.
Fans should get a refund: Refereeing de-Klein shows how far NRL's gone backwards since golden age of officials
Be interesting to know how much time at training is spent throwing for the lineout.
Wallabies CONFIRMED: Tate to captain 'new era' as Eddie changes back-row, calls up rookie prop after Thor blow
Looks better with Hooper at 6 and McReight at 7. I do think Uelese is lucky to be there. Also would have preferred Lonegan or Fines-Leleiwasa should be there in place of White.

The presentation was made to the team winning or retaining the Ashes. I imagine had England retained the Ashes, the seremony would have been fine.

But Bodyline did give the results the Pom,s wanted. Bazball didn’t.

It was dodgy. Thank goodness the Ashes had already been retained.
Umpires under fire over ball change with Khawaja, Ponting fuming over English bowlers getting dramatic swing their way
Nerver been a fan of a fast bowler being captain. Though after Paine went there weren’t too many alternatives. I do think the captaincy will change at home with probably Head or Labuschagne the leading contenders, Carey being an outsider.
Aussies Bazballed again as Root, Bairstow and Crawley power England towards series-levelling win
They shoehorned in the Ashes series between the WTC and the Hundred, which starts on Tuesday. It was an Ashes year, why on erearth play the WTC at the time it was.
Aussies Bazballed again as Root, Bairstow and Crawley power England towards series-levelling win
I like Renshaw, Khawaja, Marnus, Smith(c), Head, Marsh Green, Carey, Starc, Neser, Murphy. Or maybe Marsh to open with Uzzie with Warner gone and Hazelwood at 11. Will it happen? No. Warner will keep his place.
Flem's Verdict: Aussies will be galvanised to shut up England’s PR machine after washout kerfuffle
And importantly, the broadcasters.

Have we checked the coin?
