Living the dream.

Strange everyone talking about a future men’s world cup in the comments. Anyway – this game will be a game of two halves. The winning team will get the ball across the white line legally more times.

This is the Matildas' biggest game yet. Can they hold their nerve?

Nope. Ireland will field their strongest team. Although out of the tournament, the Irish will be going for the win.

Kerr delivers good news to embattled coach for do-or-die World Cup clash

An Irish goal late in injury time. That will send the 25,000 Irish in the crowd mad! 😛

Matildas vs Republic of Ireland: Match preview, who wins and why

Good analysis Stuart. If it’s nil all at half time, then I think it could be a nail biter. The Irish love the underdog tag and we don’t like to leave a party early! Wonderful to see over 80,000 at the game. With 4,000 Irish fans making the trip down under and with the sizeable Irish community in Sydney I wouldn’t be surprised to see about 25,000 Irish fans in the stadium. This will make for a spectacular atmosphere. Gold and green, white and orange all over the stadium! It’s one all for me. But I am a little biased. COYGIG!

At least it was entertaining. The “pocket” of Argentinian fans sounded like a lot more than 2000 people. The Aussie crowd were as tame as fans watching a chess match. Those “Try time” signs handed to fans are ridiculous. As if everyone watching on TV need to see them. The music and flashing lights between every set of play is a joke. It’s not basketball. Hearing “Sweet Chariots” or “Fields of Athenry” being sung with passion can lift teams. Having a passionate crowd can lift teams. Where is or what is our song? “Waltzing Matilda” doesn’t rouse! Maybe “Aero plane jelly”? The National Anthem rarely stirs up emotion! The music before the singing starts is like a prelude to a wedding song. The current team lacks passion. The passion every player should have when they put on that golden shirt. But with SANTOS writ large on the back. As David Pocock said “I was always proud to represent my country. As a rugby player, that’s what you dream of. It’s been difficult to watch a partnership emerge with Santos. “I really think fossil fuel sponsorship is the new cigarette sponsorship, where they are advertising a product that we now know is destroying our home planet and our futures.”

'Gutted': Cheika's Pumas steal dramatic win to confirm Eddie's worst Wallabies fears

Prediction one complete!

Wasn't this meant to be Eddie's fault? 'Exposed' England walloped by France, Wales win battle of also rans

Well, here’s what I think will happen now. Ireland will beat Scotland by 15, hammer England and go on to win the World Cup. It’s the era of the All Greens.

Ireland V France next week and the winner will win the Six Nations.

Thanks IC. I am glad you enjoyed it. 😊

😂 Thanks Tooly. I once tried to read Ulysses by Joyce and gave up after about 4 pages. If Ireland win the world cup I will try and read it all!

There was once a time when no one in Ireland played Rugby! But point taken. We need to go from decent to great to win a world cup! 😁

Thanks for your kind comments @mzilikazi! I left Ireland 27 years ago and settled in the Sunshine state! Still a proud Kerry man and Munster man!

Spud Makers? Ignorance breeds ignorance. The Irish have always fought for what they believed in whether we won or lost. Name calling is wasted on us. who cares what you call us or what we were called. In Ireland – we would simply call you a Gobs—

'They can't sledge for s---t!': Mack Hansen made a 'terrible electrican' but he's ready to light up Dublin against old mates

Great analysis Mick which I enjoyed reading. Rugby Union in the women’s and men’s game is on the up and up and the game they play in heaven has never been better. 40,000 at the Womens final was an enormous boost for every young girl out their watching. Australia is in the doldrums. Maybe they need a new coach before the world cup, but players have a responsibility too. Those knocking Italy in the past simply don’t know their rugby. High tackles are still appalling and need harsher penalties. It was telling that Andy Farell was pretty livid about Irelands Performance in their win over Fiji. This is a man who will lead Ireland to its first World cup Semi Final at least but he rightly praised Fiji, another team on the Up. Congrats New Zealand on your women final win. God- I love this game!

“We will never match the passion of South America and in many ways I am glad” – Please, please enlighten us more with the ways, even some of the ways. I’m intrigued. I want to know in how many ways you are glad. I fear I may not sleep tonight thinking about all those possible ways. At least give me six before bedtime?

Watching the Socceroos? It's time to suspend all doubt and just believe

“But this is the national team, so we have to believe.” Say what? I would love for the team to qualify but just because they are our national team I don’t have to believe it. In fact if they do qualify I will look at the result in the morning and say “I don’t believe it!”. Not this time folks – Peru 3 Soceroos 0

I used to follow Brisbane Roar and watched the A League every weekend. Then the roar moved their home ground to Woop Woop (Sorry Redcliffe) from Suncorp Stadium and it became just too much of a journey. 3 hour round trip for me. Then Foxtel lost the footballand now I dont even know who is showing it. Caught highlights of a few games on Youtube. Should be called lowlights. Standards have gone down the gutter. I see no promotion of the game anywhere. 2 – 0 to Japan for this one and game over. Who really wants to go to Qatar and place in 344 degrees heat. A league needs a marketing Manager. Socceroos probably a new coach. Come back to Brisbane – Roar!

We're about to find out if Australia truly is a football nation

Good take on the game Harry. As an Irishman watching on from Australia I never felt the Welsh were a threat after Ireland went 7 up. Yes, they stayed within reach for a period but never worried the boys in green. The winner of this Six Nations will be the winner between France and Ireland next week in Paris. COYBIG!

ANALYSIS: Ireland's Aussie import's 'dreams come true' as wounded Welsh suffer setback

What a month of rugby! The upcoming Six Nations looks enthralling! More late nights and early alarms. But will be worth it for the feast of Rugby on offer. My early prediction:

1. Ireland
2. France
3. England
4. Wales
5. Scotland
6. Italy
