The Melbourne Renegades and Adelaide Strikers will look to get their Big Bash 11 seasons off to a strong start as they go head to head at Marvel Stadium, Melbourne tonight. Join The Roar for live scores from 7:15pm AEDT.

After coming 8th in BBL10, the Renegades will want to get back into winning ways straight away and build on that momentum.

The Melbourne side will be led by Kane Richardson with club captain Nic Maddinson likely to be busy with the Australian A side in the early matches of the competition.

Richardson will have a tough job ahead of him as the Renegades have plenty of good players but very few absolute stars and it is likely to be a hard season for the side. Big names such as Shaun March and Aaron Finch are under injury clouds with Marsh unlikely to return before New Years and Finch to be a game to game call as he recovers from knee surgery.

For the Strikers, things are looking much better from an injury point of view. The Adelaide side have no injury concerns but they will be missing team heroes Alex Carey and Travis Head who will be playing at the Gabba in the first Ashes Test tomorrow.

Matt Renshaw is also likely to be missing for the first few games as he is with the Australia A side. With so much talent missing from the batting line up, a lot will be expected of players like Jono Wells. The Strikers bowling line up is looking strong again with Rashid Khan one of the truly elite T20 bowlers in the world. Can the bowlers do enough though to overcome the gaps in their batting? Against the Renegades – yes probably. For the rest of the season – probably not.
