It is magic….the only true national competition of any sport in Australia. Every club in in the country gets a crack. We know an Aleague club will win…but you never know…

Rugby players and Soccer players, if they are talented, head around the world to play in their teenage years. They consider it a wonderful adventure. A shame the “kids” in AFL struggle to move to the state next door.

It is recognition for a season well played. And it looks good on a player’s resume’. All-Australian, Premiership player (although your teammates helped), Rising star, Most courageous player ( It is actually a thing), Genuine superstar, legend etc…

Playing against a bunch of Irish potato farmers, who often beat the AFL “stars”, is hardly a good way to assess the players at the time.

The referees should not be awarding votes. They should be concentrating on both halves right from the kick-off until the final whistle.

60 percent in Adelaide (female population). And I find myself on The Roar! Without a meaningful romance, I am going to support the Lady Reds this season. Most games are at Marden which is a wonderful stadium!! Vamos Loas Rojas!!!

The wonderful movie “Rush” did not do the 1975 Dutch Grand Prix justice. They brushed over it and went to the 1976 season….Lauda v Hunt. Of course Hunt was with McLaren then. The movie suggested the Hesketh team were just drunk partygoers who somehow managed to win. The work that goes into winning a Grand Prix was heavily underplayed.

I was about to post the James Hunt victory….then noticed it was rightly No. 1. Check out a documentary called The Real James Hunt. A team of absolute no-names without a sponsor won a grand prix…wonderful stuff!!!
